Synthesia is the psychological phenomenon that can be triggered by numbers, letters, sounds, even smell. The two most common are grapheme to color (numbers and letters to colors) and sound to color (hear a sound, see a color!)

I have the latter. It's pretty cool. I mean, certain sounds or chords can help me paint. It's awesome.
